New York was definitely on the bill for the Verses: a live stream of The Rocks vs. Dipset. Yes, this iconic rap group took the MSG stage. They even had a live audience.
Watching the opening round, we wondered: one: where was Cam'ron and why was he late; two: why would Dipset rap over their own vocals? The Rocks seem to have already solved these problems.
I didn't get answers to these questions, but if you want to see what you missed, download the Fite app. Download the Fite app to watch this Verzuz VOD.
This live event seems the furthest thing from a Verzuz event born of the pandemic's social distance requirements. But we are not complaining.
So, if you didn't get tickets at a decent price (Ticketmaster's lowest price is currently $206 per ticket), if you didn't get to see the show online, we have all the information you need.
For those unfamiliar with Verzuz, these shows are informal competitions between artists. Each superstar plays one hit song, followed by another, and then they volley against each other like a tennis match. And it is the public (who express their opinions in the comments and on social media) who decides who wins.
Verzuz has gained great popularity, and Swizz Beatz (co-creator of the event) announced that the last battle (Gucci Mane vs. Jeezy) broke the "all-time live stream audience record" with 9.1 million streamers watching. This is a huge multiple of the most popular Verzuzu before it, which topped the estimated 1.2 million viewers for Brandi vs. Monica.
The only place to watch Verzuz reruns: The Rocks vs. Dipset is available (for now) on Fite. The Fite network, available on most platforms, streams all kinds of events.
Now that the event is over, this method is no longer available. It will work for the next Verzuz Live:
If you are comfortable watching on your phone or laptop, open your Verzuz IG account and click the LIVE button. You may be directed to each artist's account, but that's when.
There is usually a bit of a wait between the 9:30 PM EST start time and the actual festivities, so those who haven't already have time to pour a good drink.
Want to see it on a bigger screen? Open that page in your web browser, not on your phone, and follow the same instructions.
Triller streaming Verzuz: The Lox vs Dipset is available in HD on both iOS and Android, but (as mentioned) only Fite is streaming this Verzuz.
