The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 is getting closer and closer, but there are still new rumors circulating about what to expect. Currently, there are rumors that claim to include full specs and more information on pricing.
@_snoopytech_ posted information on Twitter claiming full specs for both models, while longtime leaker Evan Blass posted what we might expect regarding pricing.
First up is the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Snoopy's 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1.9-inch cover display, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 3,300mAh battery with 15W charging support, dual 12MP camera lenses (main and wide-angle), and a 10MP selfie camera are claimed. Naturally, it is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 888, the same chip as Samsung's Galaxy S21 series.
Their source also claims that the phone will be IP68 water and dust resistant, which is slightly different from the IPX8 waterproof rating we heard recently. However, this leaker states that they are not too sure about this particular information.
Snoopy claims that the Z Fold 3 will have the same Snapdragon 888 chipset, 7.6" 120Hz AMOLED flexible display, 6.2" 120Hz cover display, 4400mAh battery, 12GB RAM, 2546GB or 512GB storage, the company claims. The main camera is said to have three 12MP lenses, consisting of an ultra-wide angle, main, and 2x zoom telephoto lens.
Above. According to Snoopy's information, it will be IPX8 waterproof, have a 10MP camera (presumably on the outside of the display), and a 4MP under-display camera.
Snoopy has already revealed some allegations about the European pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, which we covered, and now Evan Blass has joined the fray with an image that appears to be a retailer listing. According to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will start at €1,899 ($2,256) for the 256GB model and €1,999 ($2,374) for the 512GB model.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the 128GB model is said to be priced at €1,099 ($1,305) and the 256GB model at €1,149 ($1,365).Blass is also offering the Galaxy Watch 4 (€379/$450 to €409/ 485 dollars) and Galaxy Buds 2 (159 euros/188 dollars) are also listed.
As Blass points out, direct conversions are not a good way to gauge how much a phone will cost in other markets; the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was similarly priced when it was launched in Europe last year, so this information alone is not likely to lead to much (if any) price reductions It is unlikely that there will be a price drop.
However, if this information is correct, it would further support the rumor that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be significantly reduced in price. After all, even the converted price is considerably cheaper than the $1,499 it cost to purchase the Galaxy Z Flip 5G at launch. Presumably the retail price will be even lower than that. If that really happens, that would be great news.
Sadly, we cannot take this information on faith, as we do not know the source of this information and Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied it. Therefore, we will have to wait until Galaxy Unpacked to be sure.
Nevertheless, Snoopy's claims about the specs of both models are almost identical to recent leaks, including information from longtime leaker Evan Blass. Sadly, that's not a true indicator of accuracy, so don't get too excited until Samsung itself dishes the dirt on the phones.
