However, the women's all-around will be rebroadcast in primetime on NBC.
USA Gymnastics cited mental health as the reason in its announcement that Biles will miss the overall competition.
"We wholeheartedly support Simone's decision and commend her courage in prioritizing her health. Her courage once again demonstrates why she is a role model for so many."
With this, Biles' quest to replicate her feat at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games and become the first athlete in 53 years to win back-to-back titles in all events is over. It is not yet known whether Biles will compete in next week's individual event finals.
The individual all-around is one of the gymnastics events at the Tokyo Olympics. Athletes will attempt all four events: floor, beam, uneven bars, and vault.
Sunisa Lee of the U.S. team had already qualified for the all-around after finishing third in the preliminary round. Replacing Biles in the competition will be Jade Carey, who qualified ninth.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Go to your preferred website or streaming service and tune in.
