Over the past few days, many sources, from the Chosun Ilbo to leaks such as Frontron and Ice Universe, have coalesced around the consensus that the next Samsung Unpacked event will be held on August 11.
Now the usually correct Evan Blass has added his two cents to the mix, indicating that while we agree on the August 11 date, we may get more out of the event than expected.
According to the leaker's Twitter thread, Samsung will not make the next Unpacked event a narrow event focused on the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, as some expected, but rather almost everything they seem to be working on They will be announcing everything they are working on.
After showing seven 360-degree renderings of the foldable in various colors, Blass showed four animations of the Galaxy S21 FE, three shades of the Galaxy Buds 2, and nine shots of the Galaxy Watch 4 (both versions with and without the rotating bezel) showed. These are all shots previously leaked by Blass, but these shots, gathered in one place along with the date of August 11, indicate that there will be an Unpacked event, with the emphasis on "packed."
While the foldable device will no doubt steal the show, refining an exciting product line that has made leaps and bounds over the first two generations, the biggest surprise here will be Samsung's Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung was forced to deny just last month that the device could be dropped altogether due to an ongoing chip shortage, and the company is said to be considering shifting its limited supply of processors to a foldable device instead.
Even if the phone has passed TENAA certification in recent weeks and it is clear that the handset is back on track, the suspicion remains that it will be a Q4 product, released near the end of the year. Of course, that could still be the case - even if Blass is correct and the phone is shown in the next Unpacked, it may still be weeks or months before it is actually available for purchase.
Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2 is expected to offer active noise cancellation that will beat standard AirPods. However, there is some debate about the price of Samsung's new Buds.
August has long been considered a safe bet for Samsung's second big event of 2021. In previous years, this event has been used to announce the latest Galaxy Note line, with the last three dates being August 5, 2020, August 7, 2019, and August 9, 2018. Hopefully, August 11 will soon be made official by Samsung and the countdown will begin in earnest.
