In anticipation of the upcoming release of the war game "Battlefield 6" next week, gameplay screenshots have leaked.
"Battlefield 6" will be revealed on June 9 as part of E3 2021, and according to VGC, these screenshots were shared online on Imgur and appear to have been taken at a private preview event. The screenshots show an urban environment lined with skyscrapers, an aerial battle above an oncoming sandstorm, and a one-on-one battle between a soldier with an assault rifle and an attack helicopter.
While these screenshots are not the clearest, they are a strong reminder that "Battlefield 6" is leaving the world war setting of the previous two games and returning to the modern world.
Or, judging by what looks like a HUD that smells of future augmented reality, "Battlefield 6" is set in the near future.
Additionally, one of the flying machines in the screenshot appears to have aeronautical technology that does not currently exist, unless the US military is really busy at Area 51.
Aside from that, the game seems to be more in the vein of the previous "Battlefield" game, with a vast map and combat on foot and in vehicles.
It is difficult to judge the quality of the game from these screenshots, but "Battlefield 6" will apparently be a cross-generational title, and the graphics shown here appear to work fine on Xbox One and PS4, as well as Xbox Series X and PS5. However, it won't be long before "Battlefield 6" is officially announced, so we'll soon see what the game looks like on next-gen consoles and the latest PC hardware. We can only hope that some of the seven elements we expect to see in "Battlefield 6" will be included.
