The Apple Watch7 looks stunning with the new rendering - here's your first look

The design of the Apple Watch has changed little over the years. However, the Apple Watch 7 looks to change things up. Rendered images of the new Apple Watch 7 have been released, teasing a flat-edge redesign and exciting color options.

This comes shortly after a leak from Jon Prosser suggested a new Apple Watch 7 design inspired by the iPhone 12 and "experimental new colors." This mock-up rendering is the result of a collaboration between Prosser and Ian Zerbo, a trusted concept artist who regularly produces designs based on his leaks.

The rendering is reportedly based on authentic internal images Prosser had previously received. Reeker clarified, "In this case, the source sent us not only the CAD files of this new design, but also a mixture of images." And to protect the original source, Prosser gave the images to Ian Zerbo, known on Twitter as @RendersbyIan.

According to Prosser, "The display will likely remain the same as the past few generations, but at least from what I've heard, they are testing a prototype with even smaller bezels and more screen."

One thing to note, however, is the lack of updates on spec sheets and leaked information about internal features. In fact, Prosser apparently explained that "everything is called by a codename," and it is not clear if the images he obtained from his sources are actually of the Apple Watch Series 7.

The images show off three vibrant colors, red, blue, and green, as well as standard options like silver and black. But Prosser says there may be more: "They've been working on experimental colors," said Leeker.

The design of the Apple Watch has not changed much since its debut in 2015. The few major design changes are the reduction of the Series 4 screen and its bezel, but other than that, there have been no major changes.

But just because the rounded edge has lasted this long doesn't necessarily mean it will stick; in September 2020, reliable Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo hinted at an entirely new design refresh for the 2021 model. There was also much speculation about new internal features, such as blood glucose monitoring on the Apple Watch 7.

And now, Prosser has revealed a new leak regarding a fresh flat-edge look with new colorful options, and we are likely one step closer to getting a significantly updated design. Neither feature would come as a surprise given Apple's past flagship releases, with a new flat-edge iPhone 12 lineup announced for 2020 as well as the iPad Air.

The addition of "experimental new colors" would also not be a shock: since the release of the latest iPhone 12 model, until the most recent iMac 2021 release, Apple has added new and exciting colors and shifted from traditional designs that featured only black, silver, and gold models which featured only black, silver, and gold models. The latest addition to Apple's colorful portfolio was the new Pride-themed Apple Watch band.
