The new "Stranger Things" Season 4 teaser trailer returns to where it all began for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). The eerie, minute-long clip suggests that Eleven, now known as Jane, is still struggling with memories of her childhood training at an institution run by Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine).
Unfortunately, the new teaser trailer gives no hint as to a release date for "Stranger Things" Season 4; the Netflix series resumed production in Georgia last fall after a pandemic delay and is currently filming. Stranger Things was not one of the shows Netflix executives mentioned as debuting in Q4 2021 at the last investor presentation, making next year more likely.
Sneak peek focuses on a playroom monitored by surveillance cameras, where children are engaged in toys and games such as chess, Magic 8 Ball, and Plinko. In the latter, the camera zooms in on the numbers 5 and 6, which coincides with the date the teaser trailer was released; the number 3 is also prominent, making it worthwhile for fans to ruminate.
The footage ends with a shot of the back of a man entering the room, and the children call him "Dad," which indicates that the man is Brenner (Matthew Modine). He promises the children: "I have special plans for you guys today."
He asks, "Eleven, are you listening?" and she gulps and her eyes widen.
This is the second teaser for Stranger Things Season 4, following the teaser confirming that Hopper (David Harbour) has returned from "death."
The show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, have publicly stated that season 4 will not be the last. So don't worry if it's on the list of TV shows that will be cancelled or terminated in 2021.
Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter, "Season 4 is not the end. We know the end and we know when it is. [The pandemic] gave us time to look ahead and think about what's best for the show. [The pandemic] gave us time to look ahead.
