We know the new Apple TV 4K 2021 is coming. What we don't know is when Apple will let us buy it. Well, longtime leaker Jon Prosser believes he knows the date.
Prosser claims on Twitter that the Apple TV 4K will be available on May 21. If this date sounds familiar, that's because it's the same date he says the new iPad Pro 2021 will be released.
Prosser previously claimed that the 11-inch iPad Pro would arrive a day later than the 12.9-inch model, which makes no sense. But he later updated that claim, noting that the delayed release would be limited to certain carriers' 5G models. In other words, it does not represent Apple's official release date.
MacRumors corroborated the May 21 release date for the iPad Pro, as UK retailer John Lewis mistakenly posted that information on its website. The retailer also posted the same date for the iMac 2021.
If Prosser's latest claims are true, then May 21 represents a big day for Apple, with three new products hitting store shelves and retailers around the world reopening for business, so a good turnout is probably expected at the nearest Apple Store.
Of course, if you can't wait that long and don't want to stand in line during the pandemic, pre-orders for all three products will open tomorrow (April 30).
The new Apple TV 4K features Apple's A12 Bionic processor, an all-new remote control with scroll wheel, Dolby Vision, and the ability to play content at 4K and 60 frames per second. The 32GB model is priced at $179 and the 64GB model at $199.
The iPad Pro 2021, on the other hand, features a mini LED display, Apple's M1 chip, optional 5G, and a new TrueDepth camera with Center Stage capabilities. Prices start at $799 for the 11-inch model and $1099 for the 12.9-inch.
The iMac 2021 comes in a variety of colors and features a 24-inch Retina display, 8GB of RAM, and Apple's M1 chip. An optional Touch ID-enabled keyboard is also available. Prices start at $1,299.
