The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro is emerging as Samsung's latest entry into the ultra-competitive ultralight laptop market, and the 13.3-inch model is a strong contender for the spot among the list of the best laptops you can buy, as it packs its (optional) 4G LTE connection into an incredibly smooth frame.
That means Samsung's new laptop is competing for money with Apple's MacBook Pro with powerful power and durability with the addition of Apple's M1 chip — read all about it in the MacBook Pro with M1 review.
But which laptop is suitable for you. If you are open-minded about your operating system and can't decide between the new Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and M1MacBook Pro, you can make more informed purchases by comparing these 2.
Note that this comparison is based on what Samsung announced in the Galaxy Book Pro. But even the features listed provide enough fodder for the comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and the MacBook Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and MacBook Pro are both sleek, lightweight laptops that don't weigh, but Samsung's new notebook looks a bit lighter and smaller than a similar-sized MacBook Pro. The 13.3-inch Galaxy Book Pro isn't as wide or thick as the MacBook Pro of the same size, like Samsung, for example, but it focuses on being thin and light on the new laptop.
The MacBook Pro comes in a machined aluminum shell of your choice in silver or space gray, and the Galaxy Book Pro chassis is magnesium and al the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, the 13-inch model comes with a Thunderbolt4 port, USB-C port, USB3.2 port, microSD card reader, headphone jack, and more. There is a decent array of ports for such a small laptop given that it is equipped with a USB jack. If you choose LTE support, the 13.3-inch model also has a SIM card slot, which could help you on the go.
If you choose the 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro, you will also get an HDMI port that is convenient to output to an external display for presentations, movies, etc. By comparison, the 13-inch MacBook Pro currently only offers 2 Thunderbolt4 ports and 1 headphone jack.
The current 16-inch MacBook Pro offers a headphone jack and 4 Thunderbolt ports, but only Thunderbolt3; We currently expect Apple to release an updated MacBook Pro16-inch model sometime this year, so where we need a MacBook Pro with large screens and Thunderbolt4/USB4 support.
The Retina display on Apple's MacBook Pro laptop is bright and colorful, and we're putting Samsung's Galaxy Book Pro to the test to see if the AMOLED display will work. I would like to see a comparison of the two.
For now, you can only compare the spec sheets and just look at the numbers, and it seems that the MacBook Pro is better than the Galaxy Book Pro in terms of display quality. Both the 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch models of the Galaxy Book Pro feature a native 1920x1080 resolution full HD AMOLED screen.
AMOLED displays are usually vivid, gorgeous and have excellent contrast because they use leds instead of Lcd.
The Retina displays on both MacBook Pro models still rely on LCD technology, but they are some of the best LCD screens you can buy on a laptop; The native resolution of the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro's 13.3-inch Retina display is 2560x1600, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro's native resolution is 3072x1920.
In other words, if high-resolution displays matter, the MacBook Pro could be a better choice. But if you're passionate about AMOLED displays, the Galaxy Book Pro may be a better choice — and the 1920x1080 resolution is the best you can do with a laptop.
If bezel size matters, know that while the 13-inch MacBook Pro unfortunately has a few larger bezels, the 16-inch sibling's bezels are noticeably smaller around the big screen. I haven't had a chance to measure the Galaxy Book Pro bezel myself yet, but based on the product shots, it looks significantly smaller than the MacBook Pro bezel of a similar size.
Apple's new M1 chip is a game-changer for the performance of every MacBook laptop that gets it, with a 13-inch battery life. The Chip MacBook Pro is no exception. In our lab tests, the M1-powered 13-inch MacBook Pro delivered incredible performance, beating out competing Windows laptops with 11th generation Intel i7CPU in multiple tests. This is important to note, as the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro ships with similar 11th generation Intel i5 and i7cpus, suggesting that Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro may still hold an advantage in terms of raw power.
However, the Galaxy Book Pro is being launched during this awkward period when the 13-inch MacBook Pro was upgraded with an m1 chip, but the 16-inch was not upgraded, so if you need a large screen for a 16-inch laptop, the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book Pro could be a clear choice (in terms of performance). It's a good idea. This year's 16-inch MacBook Pro is scheduled to be updated, but the current model ships with the 11th generation Intel Core i5 or i7CPU, which are the 2 full generations of the 9th generation Intel i7/i9Cpu available in the Galaxy Book Pro. If power is important and you need to increase the screen size, the Galaxy Book Pro will give you a much better bang for your buck.
While many laptop manufacturers tend to be a bit optimistic in their battery life forecasts, Apple has earned a reputation for accuracy — at least our La
13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro both show dynamite performance in battery tests, with 16 hours and 25 minutes each. It lasted 10 hours and 25 minutes.
Samsung is vague about the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, only stating that Galaxy Book Pro series laptops should provide up to 1 hour of video playback or 10 hours of standard use on a charge. However, this is an extensive statement covering both the Galaxy Book Pro and the Galaxy Book Pro360 laptop, so until we get it for testing, I'm not sure how accurate that claim is, although the 13.3-inch Galaxy Book Pro has a 63-watt-hour battery, while the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book Pro has a 68-watt-hour battery. It is known that the battery is mounted.
It's bigger than the 13-inch MacBook Pro's 58.2-watt-hour battery, but not as big as the 16-inch MacBook Pro's built-in 100-watt-hour battery. Based on what we know so far about the new Samsung Galaxy Book Pro laptop, which could rival the 13-inch M1MacBook Pro in terms of speed and battery life, however, the 13.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Book Pro is smaller and cheaper than the 13-inch MacBook Pro and can pay for the privilege of 4G LTE connectivity, so you can get it from anywhere. If that's important to you, the 13.3-inch Galaxy Book Pro gives you a value that the MacBook Pro can't match.
And if you really need a bigger screen for your work, the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book Pro is more powerful and capable than the current 16-inch MacBook Pro, but if Apple updates the larger MacBook Pro with a better screen and updates its internal organs, including 1 of those M1 chips, that will probably change - or even change. Or Apple opened
