AMD Radeon RX6700XT Inventory Disaster - it's already sold for over 1,000+

The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT won't be available until tomorrow, March 18, but that won't stop it from falling into the hands of duffers. At least one of them is already selling this new graphics card for several times the MSRP.

As TweakTown discovered, a listing on Czech second-hand site Bazoš lists the partner model PowerColor Radeon RX 6700 XT Hellhound for an eye-popping $1,250. nvidia Those who couldn't find a place to buy the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and were hoping for the RX 6700 XT as a more accessible alternative will probably have to prepare for another rough ride.

The listing is accompanied by a photo showing the very box fort of a Powercolor-branded RX 6700 XT model, but it is unclear if this was taken by the seller himself, as he claims to have only one in his possession in the text. In any case, the fact that the duffer has repeatedly acquired new GPUs before they were released speaks volumes about how dire the global graphics card shortage has become.

It was only last month that the ostensibly $329 Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 card got the brunt of a pre-launch price hike. And in January, the equally in-demand PS5 was snapped up by resellers before restock inventory was officially available.

It is also suggestive that Bazosh's listing is specifically written as a pitch to digital currency miners, whose limited GPU inventory is being depleted as demand for currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum soars.

The RX 6700 XT is unlikely to escape this fate, and attempts to mitigate demand from miners are not exactly going well. Earlier this week, it was discovered that bypassing the RTX 3060's mining speed limiter is possible simply by installing Nvidia's own beta drivers.

In conclusion, the GPU market is in dire straits right now; whether the launch of the Radeon RX 6700 XT will turn things around remains to be seen, but if thorough scalping is already underway, the stock outlook does not look good.
