The PS5 looks like a good place to play "Diablo 2: Resurrected" because it can take advantage of the powerful haptics of the dual-sense controller, which the Xbox Series X cannot compete with.
In an interview at BlizzCon 2021 flagged by UnGeek, developer Robert Gallerani said: "We're still working out how we want to use the PS5 controller, but the tactile feedback of the controller is really It's exciting and we want to be able to take advantage of that."
For those who don't know, Diablo 2: Resurrection is a remastered version of the now legendary but stale Diablo 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Such a remaster for a number of platforms is to be expected, but it is good to see the game taking advantage of the PS5's unique controller, even if it is not perfect.
The DualSense controller has received much praise since its launch last November. In particular, the haptic feedback, which uses precise vibrations to simulate the sensations experienced during gaming, has been praised by both the press and gamers alike.
It is not hard to imagine this technology being successfully implemented in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Being able to feel the power of a spell you cast or the weight of a huge axe as you swing it around would certainly add a new dimension to the game.
DualSense also offers adaptive triggers, shoulder buttons that allow you to change the degree of resistance depending on the situation in the game. Hopefully, this is another PS5-exclusive feature that the "Diablo 2" remaster will employ.
Despite the HD rumble of the impressive second-generation Xbox wireless controller and Joy-Con controller, the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch each have a level of tactile feedback that can compete with the DualSense controller They do not. This means that "Diablo 2 Resurrection" is best played on Sony's consoles.
"Diablo 2: Resurrection" was developed by Crash Bandicoot: Buttobi 3-danmori! and has recently become known as a remake specialist: Diablo's development is being handled by Vicarious Visions, which also worked on Crash Bandicoot: 3-Dan! and last year's "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Remaster," Vicariousisions, which has become known as a remake specialist in recent years.
No release date has been confirmed beyond "this year" yet. But fingers crossed we won't have to wait too long for a chance to dive back into this classic game and experience it with modern bells and whistles.
Of course, not everyone is completely convinced by the additional features packed into the dual-sense controller, and some players have even already grown attached to it. So we pray that Vicarious Visions will allow us to turn these features on and off according to our preferences.
"Diablo 2: Resurrection" will also be available on PS4 (along with all other systems), but most gamers will want to play this enhanced version on the most powerful console on the market.
