The long-running cat-and-mouse game returns with "Tom and Jerry" on HBO Max. The Tom and Jerry cartoon has been running since 1940, and has now made 15 feature films. The latest "Tom and Jerry" film is a hybrid of animation and live action.
In Tom and Jerry 2021, after Tom is evicted by his owner, the two are homeless and separated. They reunite in Manhattan, where Jerry takes up residence at the upscale Royal Gate Hotel. Hotel employee Kayla (Chloe Grace Moretz) is tasked with getting rid of Jerry before an important wedding and hires Tom to catch the rat. Chaos ensues.
But the chaos threatens Kayla's job, the wedding, and the hotel itself. Then everything gets even more complicated when rivals discover a diabolical plot involving the hotel staff.
The new Tom and Jerry film is filled with the same slapstick humor and gags as the original cartoon. And this nostalgia fest is completed by the appearance of Spike the bulldog.
