Captain Marvel2 and Dr.Do I need to look at Wanda Vision to understand Strange2?

Wander Vision may be super popular right now, but do Marvel fans need to see the Disney Plus series, and a new interview with MCU head Kevin Feige gives us the answer.

And since Feige himself has long said that Wander Vision will be tied into Sam Raimi's upcoming MCU film "Doctor Strange: The Universe of Madness," it makes sense that people would want to know. Also planned is "Captain Marvel 2," in which Teyonah Parris will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau.

According to Cinema Blend, Feige said at TCA, "With Sam Raimi, Michael Waldron, and the entire 'Doctor Strange' team, this movie has to be enjoyable for those who saw 'Wanda and the Colossus,' but more importantly, for those who did not We talked a lot about how the film must be enjoyable for those who have seen "Wanda and the Colossus," but more importantly, it must be enjoyable for those who have not seen it. In other words, you don't need to be familiar with the events at Westview to "get" what's going on in the next Doctor Strange film.

However, as any MCU fan knows, you can follow the events a little more closely (and understand the jokes) if you have seen "Wander Vision."

When asked if he was concerned that fans would not be familiar with the Teyonah Parris version of Monica Rambeau, Feige gave a similar response: "I'm not worried about more Teyonah Parris. I think that's always a good thing. But, honestly, film and cinema are very similar. We try to develop the story in such a way that if you have seen the film before it, you will understand it right away. And more importantly, if you haven't seen it, you will understand it right away."

In other words, you can understand what the new faces are in the next Marvel movie, no matter what.

Of course, the last time we saw Monica Rambeau in an MCU movie was as an 11-year-old girl played by Akira Akbar. Perhaps in "Captain Marvel 2" there will be some way to quickly explain that this is the same woman Captain Marvel met when he visited his friend Maria in the first film. This conversation is probably necessary because in "Wanda Vision" we learn that Maria Rambo died from cancer remission and that Monica was "snapped" by Thanos.

The question of how necessary Marvel programming is to Marvel films has long loomed overhead. Fans of "Agents of SHIELD" and Marvel Netflix shows ("Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," etc.) may remember that these shows were not really important in the long run. But hopefully, now that these shows are being made closer to the Marvel Studios family, there is more reason to expect interlinking continuity.
