Disney Plus has begun releasing "The Falcon and Winter Spider-Man" to critics. How good is it, so much so that we want to fast forward to its March 19 release date.
From what we hear, "The Falcon And The Winter Solder" will be like a Marvel movie broken up into six TV show-sized segments. And based on the Disney Plus scheduling news we've discovered, we're hoping it will keep people happy for the month or more between this show and Loki.
Unfortunately, however, critics have only seen a few scenes. They are hoping for a big surprise from the MCU, like Wander Vision.
Up front, critics seem to have seen only two scenes. Sam Wilson executing the rescue mission and the Bucky scene, which is a mix of therapy and action (perhaps inserted).
Let's start with Joel Meares, editor-in-chief of Rotten Tomatoes. He offered the most surprising tidbit of all: more blood than one might expect. I'm also happy to say that the clip reminded me of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," because it's one of the best Marvel films in the entirety of the Marvel movies.
Decider's Meghan O'Keefe elaborated on that note about the blood, saying that these clips "contain the most brutal (and bloody!) action scenes we've ever seen in the MCU. It contains action scenes," she said. The mere fact that she mentions a hard R rating is surprising.
Collider's Steven Weintraub notes that the clip is most likely from Episode 1, and that Marvel and Disney do not appear to be stingy with their budgets:
Sean O'Connell of sister site Cinema Blend is a big fan of the stunts in both clips. More importantly, he delves into Bucky's emotions in his portrayal.
