Karate bad boy may be back in town for Cobra Kai Season 4. Sean Kanan, who played Mike Burns in "Karate Kid III," recently teased that he might join the cast of "Cobra Kai.
Season 4 of "Cobra Kai" is currently filming in Atlanta over the next few months. Canaan could be the latest cast member from the original "Karate Kid" film, joining Elizabeth Shue, Yuji Okumoto, and Tamlyn Tomita.
Canaan hinted at the possibility of a cameo on FanRoom Live, saying, "I can tell you from talking to the producers a lot, I saw a little clip of Mike Burns in season 3. We'll find out eventually."
If you need a refresher on The Karate Kid Part III, Mike was a feared professional karate fighter hired by evil tycoon Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffiths), an old friend of John Cleese (Martin Cove). Terry was determined to get revenge on Daniel La Russo (Ralph Macchio) and Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita).
Mike was supposed to defeat Daniel in the All Valley Karate Tournament in exchange for partial ownership of the new Cobra Kai dojo. However, Daniel won, and the good guys triumphed over the bad guys.
Mike's appearance in Cobra Kai Season 4 makes sense. At the end of Season 3, Cleese made a phone call to a stranger. Fans speculate that the person was Terry Silver, as Cleese is looking at a Vietnam War-era photo. The phone call also came shortly after Cleese challenged Daniel and former student Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) to a dojo showdown at an all-volleyball tournament.
It is not a big leap to speculate that Cobra Kai Season 4 will bring back Terry Silver.
"I think [the creators] want to get everybody active," Kanan told Desert Sun. 'At least 50 people a day go on Instagram and ask if we're coming back for Season 4. I think it's a definite possibility, but I can't confirm or deny."
