The new MacBook Pro 2021 model is expected to return some of the features of the previous generation MacBook Pro and is expected to hit store shelves in late 2021.
As reported by MacRumors, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that the new MacBook Pro will feature an HDMI port and SD card slot, just like the 2015 model. But that's not all.
The return of the SD card slot was first reported in a January article by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg on Apple's future laptop plans.
Both the HDMI port and SD card slot were removed from Apple's MacBook lineup in 2016, much to the frustration of those producing photo and video content.
Kuo also predicted that Taiwanese company Genesys Logic would become Apple's exclusive supplier of SD card readers for future MacBook Pro lineups in 2021.
"We anticipate that Apple's two new MacBook Pro models in the second half of '21 will have some significant design and specification changes," Kuo said.
We reported on Kuo's earlier prediction last month that the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models would include the addition of a MagSafe charging connector, a removed Touch Bar, a "new flat edge design," and possibly more ports, among many significant design changes.
One of the latest leaks from CPU Monkey also suggests that the new MacBook Pro models will feature the upcoming M1X chip. This new chip is expected to feature a 12-core CPU with eight "Firestorm" cores and four "Ice Storm" cores.
Apple is expected to introduce two new MacBook Pro models this year, including the MacBook Pro 14-inch 2021 model (up from 13-inch) and the MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021 model. So be sure to read all the leaked information.
