Ring in the New Year with a fun binge session, and be sure to check out the new shows and movies airing this weekend on Netflix and Peacock, either before or after the New Year.

Topping the weekend's lineup is an adaptation of Don DeLillo's classic White Noise. Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig star and Noah Baumbach directs.

On the TV side, Netflix has a new concept: a series where you can watch the episodes in any order you want. The heist thriller "Kaleidoscope" unlocks a different part of the story with each episode, leading to a captivating finale.

Meanwhile, Paul T. Goldman's doc Firth follows the strange journey of adapting John Warriner's book with references to "Rehearsal" and "How to Deal with John Wilson."

Here are some of the highlights of the weekend.

Don DeLillo's 1985 novel is considered his breakthrough work and an icon of postmodern American literature. However, it is also a work that has long been considered impossible to make into a film. Noah Baumbach decided to take up the challenge and direct his first film not from his own screenplay.

The absurdist comedy follows Professor Jack Gladney (Adam Driver), his fourth wife Babette (Greta Gerwig), and their blended family as they deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while tackling larger concepts such as death and love. These contemplations are heightened to a fever pitch when they are forced to flee their town due to a toxic chemical spill.

After the "choose your own adventure" of "Bandersnatch," Netflix is once again pushing the limits of viewing with this heist drama that allows you to watch the episodes in any order you want.

The plot is loosely inspired by the true story of $70 billion in missing bonds in Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy. A gang of thieves plan to rob a seemingly unbreakable safe in order to earn the biggest reward in history. Each episode reveals an elaborate puzzle piece of greed, corruption, intrigue, and betrayal. The viewer's perspective changes depending on the order in which they watch the episodes until the action-packed finale.

"Borat" director Jason Warriner has been working on this passion project for over a decade. And it looks like a wild ride: in 2012, Goldman tweeted to Warriner asking for his help in turning a book he had written into a series. Intrigued by the story of his transformation from "wimp to warrior" and his battle with an international crime syndicate, Woliner set about bringing it to the screen.

Like "Rehearsal," it is a quasi-documentary on Goldman's programming, dramatized scenes taken from the book. The result is an utterly bizarre work that plays with the boundaries between truth and fiction.

New developments turn "The Circle" inside out. Or ...... So. Season 5 was supposed to be packed with singles about to get married. However, the social reality show features a number of catfish pretending to be in a romantic relationship for the prize money.

One of them is a familiar face: season 1's Shubham Goel, aka Shubi. This fan favorite lost to Joey Sarzo in the finale and may be just as popular this time around. Or he could be a target: ...... Unless he is catfishing under a different identity.

The adult animated series returns with a slice of deep dish pizza and more alcoholic beverages for hard-partying beautician Diane (Lauren Ash). Based on Chris Witaske's satirical Twitter account, the show follows the hot mess in her various exploits post-divorce.

Also making an appearance is her nerdy nephew and roommate Daniel (Rory O'Malley). In Season 2, Diane actually - gasp! - Let's grow up a little.
