There was another cancellation today. But this time it wasn't Netflix or HBO Max that canceled a TV show, it was actually Hulu; according to Variety (opens in new tab), the streaming service canceled "Reboot," a comedy that follows the cast and crew as they try to reboot the fictional sitcom "Step Right Up..." to reboot the comedy "Reboot," which follows the cast and crew as they attempt to reboot the show for Hulu.

Reboot's first season debuted on September 20 and ended its eight-episode run a little over a month later on October 25. The show starred Rachel Bloom as screenwriter Hannah Korman as she attempted to reboot "Step Right Up" for the modern age.

This puts her at odds with the show's original creator and her estranged father, Gordon Gelman (Paul Recier). On top of this, the original production ends on a sour note, and the returning cast members must contend with unresolved issues in their professional and personal lives.

The show featured returning cast members Keegan-Michael Key, Judy Greer, Johnny Knoxville, and Callum Worsey, with Krista Marie Yu as an inexperienced Hulu executive and Aliyah Chanel Scott as reality TV star-turned-actress played the role of a reality TV star-turned-actress.

Frankly, I'm a bit devastated that the "reboot" ended so soon. I only found out about the show in December, two months after the original broadcast ended, and I was terribly disappointed that the first season ended so soon; eight episodes wasn't enough, but it was clear that it had the potential to be great.

I am not alone in enjoying this show. The Reboot currently has an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (open in new tab) based on 40 critics' reviews. Sadly, audiences do not agree at all, with a much lower audience score of 68%. Clearly, the show did not resonate with viewers.

The reason for the cancellation of the reboot has not been revealed as of yet, but the obvious reason is that there was not a large enough audience. It is not clear how Hulu is currently measuring the success of the original show, but that is not important. The show was canceled because not enough people tuned in to watch the "reboot".

My disappointment is not dampened in the slightest, especially given the apparent lack of good comedy right now.
