Ted Lasso Season 3 gets first look and release date updates

"Ted Lasso" Season 3 Update Finally Released After the Apple TV Plus breakout hit "Ted Lasso" didn't air in 2022 and months of no fresh information, we were left wondering, "When the hell is Ted Lasso Season 3? And finally, we have the answer.

Like many of the best streaming services, Apple TV Plus is currently hyping its 2023 schedule. Among the confirmed new and returning shows is the announcement that "Ted Lasso" Season 3 will premiere in Spring 2023.

Admittedly, that's not the definite release date we were hoping for, but at least we finally have a launch window. Plus, January is already more than half over, and spring is actually closer than you think.

The Apple TV Plus gave fans their first look at the next season of the soccer sitcom in the form of a teaser image to coincide with this launch day update. The image shows Coach Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) and Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohamed) meeting in an elevator. While Lasso is sporting his trademark smirk, Nathan appears to be quite unfriendly.

In the background is Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), former owner of AFC Richmond and the show's main antagonist. Behind him is the West Ham United logo, suggesting that the scene takes place at the Premier League club's training facility.

The somewhat vague launch window and one image, while not much to go on, is the biggest update since "Ted Lasso" Season 3 was confirmed to air in October 2020. And with this single social media post, our expectations have been raised significantly.

After all, "Ted Lasso" is considered by almost everyone to be one of the best TV shows on Apple TV Plus, and even managed to break my own defenses that initially tried to resist its appeal.

Ted Lasso has always been a summer show, debuting in August for its first season and July for its second. So in that respect, Season 3 of Ted Lasso is a break from tradition. However, whispers on the Internet suggest that this third season is facing significant production delays (open in new tab).

A closer look at the teaser images reaffirms that the major conflict of season 3 will be the confrontation between Nate and Coach. In the Season 2 finale of Ted Russo, Nate turned his back on AFC Richmond, believing that Russo had intentionally ignored him, and eventually defected to West Ham United. But at least Ted's smiling face suggests that there are no hard feelings.

The social caption reads, "time to win the whole f***ing thing," Coach Lasso's words in the Season 1 finale. And this probably indicates that AFC Richmond will be fighting to win the Premier League title this season. It is unclear who their direct rivals will be, but previous seasons have featured real-life soccer clubs like Man City, and with Nate as manager, West Ham will probably be in the mix. Will historic clubs like Man U and Liverpool also make an appearance?

For now, these questions will have to wait until spring, or at least until Apple TV Plus releases the first trailer for Ted Russo Season 3. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see what happens next. And as for the show coming back in the spring, I hope it is an early spring and not a late spring.
