Samsung Galaxy S24 can get Ufs 4.1 boost thanks to Snapdragon 8GEN3

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 may still be new, but Qualcomm is already hard at work on its successor. However, Qualcomm is already working on its successor. The company claims to have important information that needs to be newly leaked, although it is not yet ready for public release.

Of course, as with any leak, take this leak with a grain of salt, especially since it comes from an unspecified person on Twitter who does not disclose the source. While this leak seems plausible, we are still skeptical. We are even more skeptical given the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leak from a few days ago.

From Twitter user @Tech_Reve (opens in new tab), an alleged graphic comparing the so-called Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with its predecessors, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (not Plus variant) are.

According to this graphic, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a total of 8 cores, 1+5+2. The main powerhouse is a Cortex-X4, clocked at 3.2GHz. Yes, this is lower than the 3.36GHz Cortex-X3 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and the same as the main core in the regular 8 Gen 2.

Five Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3GHz seem to handle efficient tasks, while dual Cortex-A520 cores cover the remaining base-level stuff; an X75 5G modem is also on the chipset, as is an Adreno 750 GPU.

All of this sounds good and sounds good, but we are a little skeptical because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is said to support UFS 4.1 (a yet to be announced storage specification), although we have no idea what storage speeds to expect from UFS 4.1. but given the leap from UFS 3.1 to UFS 4, we're pretty excited about it.

If the leak is legitimate, it might make sense given the rumors that Qualcomm will release a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by the end of the year to compete with Apple's A17 Bionic, which is expected to be included in the iPhone 15 Pro. In fact, we may see a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone in the last quarter of this year. And the Galaxy S24 will appear early next year.

Given that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (especially the Galaxy variant) stands up quite well against the A16 Bionic and outright wins in graphics benchmarks, it makes It makes sense that they would want to show off what they have to contend with Apple. Unless, however, there is another Snapdragon 810 problem.

Whatever the chip's eventual performance, there is no doubt that by 2024 the best Android phones will be closing in on Apple in terms of raw performance.
