PlayStation Showcase2023年5月: How to watch, start time, what to expect

Sony's next PlayStation Showcase will be streamed live today, Wednesday, May 24, and will likely show off the next PS5.

Importantly, this is a full PlayStation Showcase. Sony regularly holds "State of Play" events, which are smaller presentations dedicated to a single game (most recently Final Fantasy 16).

Since the last PlayStation Showcase took place in 2021, PS5 users have been a bit impatient over the past few months, waiting for Sony to confirm when the next one would be held. Fortunately, our patience has been rewarded and the next PlayStation Showcase is just a few days away.

If you would like to see the PlayStation Showcase 2023, all the details you need are listed below. We've also compiled a list of games that are likely to be at the PlayStation Showcase, as well as a list of games that we're not so sure about, but would love to see.

PlayStation Showcase 2023 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24 at 1pm PT, 4pm ET, and 9pm BST. The live streaming event will be available on all expected video sharing platforms, including Twitch and YouTube.

There will likely be no pre-show, but you can join the stream before the announced start time so you won't miss a moment. We will add an embedded link as soon as the video is available, so please bookmark this article by Wednesday.

The show will last just over an hour and will include games in development for PS5 and PSVR 2 from PlayStation Studios, Sony's third-party partners, and independent developers.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is almost certain to appear at PlayStation Showcase 2023, unless there is official confirmation. The superhero sequel was originally announced at the 2021 PS Showcase, and Sony reiterated its intention to release it this year just a few months ago. Additionally, a prequel comic book was recently released to celebrate Free Comic Book Day (May 6), suggesting that Sony is ready to begin marketing the game. We look forward to Spider-Man 2 gameplay and a release date.

Naughty Dog is developing an online game set in the world of The Last of Us, studio head Neil Druckman confirmed during a live event at last year's Summer Game Fest. Building on the "Factions" mode of the original "The Last of Us" (unfortunately omitted from the remake "The Last of Us Part 1"), this multiplayer project will feature Naughty Dog's trademark cinematic storytelling and, It will be a stand-alone release that combines the unique intensity of online deathmatches. We can't wait to hear more.

Rumors that NetherRealm Studios is preparing to release a new "Mortal Kombat" have been circulating for some time, but were further fueled this week when series co-creator Ed Boon posted a non-cryptic message on social media The fire was further ignited when Ed Boon posted something that was not a cryptic message on social media. According to the leak, the next installment in this very gory fighting franchise will be titled "Mortal Kombat 1" (but not a remake of the first game) and may be shown for the first time at the PlayStation Showcase 2023.

Actor Norman Reedus let slip in May 2022 that he was involved in a sequel to 2019's Death Stranding, and later confirmed at the Game Awards that a sequel to the somewhat controversial game was in development, with a trailer that was predictably ominous Hideo Kojima is one of the most respected directors of all time. Hideo Kojima is one of the most respected and celebrated video game designers of all time, so anything he does will automatically draw interest, and "Death Stranding" is a unique experimental game that seems ripe for a more polished sequel. It may be a little too early to tell, as DS 2 was only announced five months ago, but we're hoping for the best.

Even before the PlayStation Showcase 2023 was fully confirmed, speculation was rife among the enthusiastic PlayStation community as to what might be on the horizon, from outlandish proposals like Bloodborne 2 (sorry, but it probably won't happen), to a new game that will be released in the next few months, such as the upcoming "Dawn of the Dead" (which will be released in 2019), to a new game that will be released in 2019. won't happen) to more plausible predictions, such as the reveal of Sony Bend's next project (the development studio behind the much-maligned Days Gone in 2019).

With a full hour, we can expect to see a lot of PS5 games, some of which will be new, and at least a couple of announcements that will completely take us by surprise. Sucker Punch, a Seattle-based studio under Sony, is said to be working on a sequel to the popular open-world samurai game "Ghost of Tsushima," so perhaps it will be announced here. Or perhaps the rumors whispered on the Internet about a new "Uncharted" game starring Nathan Drake's daughter will be accurate.

Let's not forget that Sony has confirmed that PSVR 2 games will also be in the spotlight. This is much needed, as the upcoming software lineup for the virtual reality headset is rather pathetic at the moment. Sony needs to fix this problem ASAP.Half-Life: Alyx could possibly be PSVR 2 bound.

Whatever games are showcased, we're sure we'll get a long list of exciting new titles and a clearer idea of what we'll be playing on PS5 in the coming years from the PlayStation Showcase 2023.
