Samsung Galaxy S23FE render showing off major redesign

Thanks to detailed 360-degree leak-based renderings created by OnLeaks and published by SmartPrix, the elusive Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is now fully unraveled.

Not surprisingly, these rendered images show a design very similar to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus. However, the S23 FE is believed to have a 6.4" display and approximate dimensions of 158 x 76.3 x 8.2 mm. This size would place it between the 6.1-inch Galaxy S23 and the 6.6-inch Galaxy S23 Plus. This display is not curved like the S23 or S23 Plus, but differs from the Galaxy S23 Ultra with its curved edges.

The back of the rendered S23 FE has three rear cameras, including a 50MP main camera like the S23 and S23 Plus. The other two cameras are expected to be an ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera, as seen on other Galaxy S and S FE models.

Internally, the Galaxy S23 FE could use a slightly older chipset in the form of either the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which launched mid-last year, or Samsung's own Exynos 2200 chip. Either of these will no doubt provide ample power and strong, efficient performance, but will fall short of the best Android phones currently on the market (many of which use the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 silicon).

Whichever chip Samsung uses, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage could join it. Meanwhile, as for power, the S23 FE is rumored to use a 4,500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging.

The last Galaxy S FE phone we got was the Galaxy S21 FE in 2022, which was a good phone but came too close to the launch of the Galaxy S22 series and unfortunately at a higher price. If Samsung wants to have a chance to compete with other inexpensive flagship phones like the Google Pixel 7, OnePlus 11, or Samsung's own Galaxy S22, which has been discounted since the S23 series was introduced, the Galaxy S3 FE's cost needs to be carefully set It will need to be carefully priced. Otherwise, one might conclude that, like the Galaxy S22 FE, it should not exist and that it would be better to use Samsung's inexpensive Galaxy A54 instead.

There is a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for late July, which is expected to focus primarily on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, since other devices like the Galaxy Tab S9 series and the Galaxy Watch 6 are also expected to make an appearance, there seems to be room for the Galaxy S23 FE as well. However, both the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 FE have their own small launch events outside of the main Galaxy Unpacked show that year, and the S23 FE is also rumored to launch early. Perhaps the Galaxy S23 FE will appear in the first or second week of July, and will serve to herald the arrival of Samsung's new folderable device.
