The TV reboot of the film series, "Percy Jackson and the Gods of Olympus," will be a more faithful retelling of Rick Riordan's popular novels. The eight-part debut season is an adaptation of "The Lightning Thief," in which Percy (Walker Scobell) is the master bolt stolen, which draws the wrath of Zeus (the late Lance Reddick) when the king of the gods learns of the theft.
Why the great Olympian gods would believe that an unsociable and cripplingly docile 12-year-old child was responsible for the robbery is initially a mystery. Could it be that the god of thunder is not intelligent? But it soon becomes clear that Zeus' suspicions are tied to the boy's divine lineage.
Percy is a demigod, and at Camp Half Blood, the demigod's sanctuary, under the protection of the satyr Grover Underwood (Aayan Simhadri) and formal training from Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), daughter of Athena, he is able to accomplish extraordinary feats of Demonstrate.
Percy, Grover, and Annabeth are challenged with a series of difficult and arduous tasks, including the Minotaur, the Chimera, the Medusa, and a journey into the underworld.
Ancient Greek mythology comes to life as they scour the web to separate the story of Riordan from its source material. Watch the trailer below:
