Sometimes you need a Christmas movie that is so extravagant, hilarious, and romantic that you can't help but enjoy it. Even if the film has a predictable plot, clichéd dialogue, and not-so-great acting, it is hard not to resist the allure of Christmas. Given what we hear in the news these days, it's easy to resign ourselves to these movies. Our favorite cheesy romantic holiday movies are guaranteed to be a source of fun entertainment, because miraculously, none of that happens.
Netflix clearly thinks so, too, as Netflix's Christmas romance movies have the best of the best with an added element of cheese. You may roll your eyes a little when you watch them, but these films will put a smile on your face and give you a warm feeling.
Nothing is more fun than traveling to a foreign country to escape your problems. Famous author Sophie Brown (Brooke Shields) was able to do so when she went to Scotland to escape the repercussions of killing one of her most famous characters. Luckily, she discovers in Scotland that fans love her books, including the latest one that has haunted her most in the United States.
While there, she also explores her family roots by visiting the castle where her father worked as a groundskeeper. She learns that the castle is for sale and confronts the disgruntled Duke, Myles Dunbar, played by Cary Elwes. The Duke agrees to sell the castle on the condition that she remain with him for 90 days. The unexpected happens and the two fall in love. The plot is surprisingly predictable, but you will enjoy every moment of this charming Christmas romance.

No one wants to attend a holiday party alone. The Christmas movie "Holiday Date" explores this debacle when Sloane, played by Emma Roberts, and Jackson, played by Luke Bracy, are fed up with terrible dates and meddling families. After a chance encounter while returning a gift at the store, they decide to be each other's plus-one for an upcoming holiday party; the two never intend to fall in love, just to lighten the burden of an awkward family gathering.
In the film, holidays appear throughout the year, beginning with New Year's Eve and ending with Christmas. However, as the story progresses, romance develops and you find yourself rooting for their relationship to come together. The chemistry between Roberts and Blasey and the strong supporting cast, including comedienne Kristin Chenoweth, make this a film that is sure to be enjoyed.

"Love Actually" is one of the best Christmas romance films ever made. It's like a block of melted Velveeta with way too much cheese. A love story involving family, friends, lovers, and co-workers. The stellar cast includes such big names as Liam Neeson, Hugh Grant, Laura Linney, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, and Emma Thompson.
Because for eight couples, not everything works out like a beautifully wrapped package. Sometimes it's unrequited love. Other times, the timing simply wasn't right. There is also humor sprinkled throughout, including a scene in which an aging singer presents a terrible Christmas song, played by the delightful Bill Nye. If watching cheesy Christmas romance movies is on your to-do list this holiday season, don't miss this one.

"Holiday in the Wild" may not be the stereotypical Christmas movie. However, it contains enough of the romantic cheese we all love and enough holiday spirit to get us in the mood for the season. Kristen Davis stars as Kate Conrad, who surprises her husband on their second honeymoon to Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, he confesses that he is in love with another woman, and Kate is left with one thought.
Of course, she makes the trip. But when Derek, played by pilot Rob Lowe, has to land his plane in the wild, she becomes involved in his life as an elephant conservationist. She bonds with the baby elephants she rescues, and gently conveys to viewers the essential message that poachers are threatening the elephant community. A fascinating film for the whole family to watch.

If you've ever wondered where your knight in shining armor is, he probably lives in medieval times. But the movie "The Night Before Christmas" solves this problem thanks to a sorcerer who transports Sir Cole, played by Josh Whitehouse, to modern-day Ohio during the holiday season.
Brooke, played by Vanessa Hudgens, is a kindly science teacher who accidentally bumps into him with her car. When she learns that he does not remember her name and has no identification, she invites him to recover at her house. Brooke is unaware that Sir Cole is there on an extraordinary quest. Romance blossoms amidst the Christmas festivities and Sir Cole's quest for modern progress. Some suspension of disbelief is required, but the film is one of the best cheap Christmas romance movies ever made.
