The holiday season has officially arrived. That means you'll be spending a lot of time celebrating with family and enjoying some much-needed downtime. Thanksgiving is this week, but there is still an amazing amount of new content on Netflix to check out while you do other things.

Argue over what to watch next. Or maybe you need suggestions. This week's selection of new Netflix content is a great choice.

This week's highlight is "Squid Game": a reality TV adaptation of a popular Korean drama in which contestants compete against each other. They are all competing to win the biggest prize ever presented by Netflix, a whopping $4.56 million. How will they win? They compete in the same game as the original series, of course.

There's also Leo, a family musical comedy that's perfect for everyone to get together and enjoy. A 74-year-old lizard (Adam Sandler), who has been the class pet all his life, learns that he only has one year left to live and decides to do something for the students in his class who took care of him before he departed. [A Nearly Normal Family] is a Swedish thriller about a family with a seemingly idyllic and perfect life. Until their daughter Stella is arrested for murder. Everything falls into disarray as they face the harsh truth about Stella and themselves.

"Stamped from the Beginning" is a documentary that explores in detail the complex history of race in America. The story interweaves the lives of five key figures: Cotton Mather, Thomas Jefferson, William Lloyd Garrison, W.E.B. DuBois, and Angela Davis. Through a diverse lens, director Roger Ross presents a striking visual presentation of Ibram X. Kendi's book. The film reveals how white supremacy has been shaped and perpetuated by religion, government, and activism, educating and informing viewers about the harsh realities of white supremacy.

Leo (Adam Sandler) is an aging lizard who lives peacefully as the class pet. Or he might have been, had he not been on the verge of a mid-life crisis: at 74, Leo realizes he has only one year left to live. With that in mind, the lizard decides to leave his cage behind and see the outside world, embarking on an unexpected adventure. He is not out sightseeing, however. Clever Leo becomes an unconventional therapist to save the classroom's quirky fifth graders from a terrible substitute teacher. It's also a musical.

Squid Game: The Challenge is Netflix's new reality TV venture, based on the hugely popular Korean series Squid Game. $4.56 million in prize money, the largest in Netflix history. It will be a once-in-a-generation opportunity for 456 real-life competitors to compete in a game familiar from the original show. From cutting shapes out of the Korean honeycomb cookie "Dalgona" to the most harrowing version of "Red Light, Green Light," the contestants will have to face more than interpersonal drama if they want to come out on top. Contestants simply have to go home.

"High on the Hog" returns for a second season to celebrate the impact and innovation of African American food on popular culture. Netflix's latest Korean drama combines Beauty and the Beast with The Little Mermaid. Jung Kwon (Song Kang) is a powerful demon. To regain their powers, the two come to live together, and though they come from different worlds, sparks begin to fly. - KW

"A Very Ordinary Family" is a thriller adapted from the bestseller by Matthias Edvardsson. The Sandel family, living in a sophisticated suburb of Lund, seems to be the epitome of the picture-perfect family: priest father Adam (Björn Bengtsson), lawyer mother Ulrica (Lo Kauppi), and 19-year-old daughter Stella (Alexandra Carlson Tilforth). However, their seemingly idyllic lives are disrupted when Stella is arrested for murder. Faced with Stella's arrest, the Sandell family is forced to confront not only the truth about their daughter, but also everything they have been hiding in their own lives.
