Since its debut last November, the Xbox Series X controller has received nothing but praise. And while fans have not been more complimentary of the peripheral, it has been revealed that the controller comes with a handy feature that allows users to switch between the console and other Bluetooth devices.
Microsoft employee Timo Wolf revealed that the Xbox Series X controller can quickly switch between the connection profiles of the console and mobile devices. This eliminates the need to re-pair the controller every time you switch between game consoles and mobile devices, unlike the Xbox One controller.
Using this trick is quite simple. First, make sure the controller is synced to both the console and the Bluetooth device; to sync with a Bluetooth device such as the Samsung Galaxy S21, press and hold the sync button on the Xbox Series X controller until the Xbox logo begins to flash. Enter the Bluetooth settings and wait for the "Xbox Wireless Controller" to appear. Tap to synchronize the controller.
Now that the device is connected to the Bluetooth device, switching between Xbox console and mobile is rather simple. To switch to mobile, hold down the sync button until the Xbox logo flashes. Very easy.
Wolf uploaded a video to Twitter demonstrating how it works.
Oddly enough, this trick only works between the console and the Bluetooth device; if you want to switch between Bluetooth and the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, you have to re-pair it each time. For iPhone fans. Unfortunately, this trick doesn't work with Apple devices either. But maybe Microsoft will add compatibility in a future update.
