TCL has announced the MoveAudio S600. It is a true wireless earphone with active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency mode, and is less expensive than the AirPods Pro with similar features.
At €149 (about $180), the MoveAudio S600 is not a complete budget earphone, but it is comfortably cheaper than the in-ear earphones on our best noise-canceling headphones list.
Besides ANC, there are plenty of premium features: the MoveAudio S600 meets IP54 standards for dustproof and waterproof performance and is fully sweatproof. These are naturally used for ANC, but they also support environmental noise cancellation (ENC), which allows for clear voice calls without picking up too much ambient noise.
Battery life has also been dramatically improved from the MoveAudio S200 released last September. These were rated for only 3.5 hours of use on a single charge, while the MoveAudio S600 is rated for 5 hours with ANC and 7 hours without ANC. These figures can be raised to 20 and 28 hours, respectively, by the charging case.
Connected via Bluetooth 5.0, it does not support the high-quality aptX codec, only SBC and AAC, but fast pairing should make setup easier. The MoveAudio S600 also has ear detection, which automatically starts and pauses playback when it is put on or taken off the ear.
All in all, a pretty rich set of features, and hopefully the MoveAudio S600's 10mm drivers will back them up with good sound quality, We will update this article as soon as the U.S. launch is revealed. [In addition to the mini LED TVs and Dolby Atmos soundbars, TCL Nxtpaper, an 8.88-inch Android tablet that showcases TCL's high-contrast, low-power Nxtpaper display technology, has just been announced.
