New information from Microsoft suggests that Windows 10 is about to get a major makeover. Yes, in the aftermath of the macOS Big Sur, which was reborn to look more like iOS, Microsoft is apparently trying to breathe new life into Windows 10 with the 2021 H2 Sun Valley update.

News of the Sun Valley redesign first leaked in October, but it was a rumor that sources told anonymously. Now we hear it from Microsoft itself; Windows Latest has spotted a job ad for a Windows team openly bragging about upcoming changes to Windows 10.

According to Windows Latest, the job description for the Senior Software Engineer position initially read: "This team will show customers that Windows is BACK and that Windows is considered the best user OS experience for our customers. to work with partners to thoroughly orchestrate and deliver a visual rejuvenation of the Windows experience.

Notice the all-caps "BACK" indicating that Microsoft is ready to roll out a full-scale advertising campaign that could be a rebirth of the OS. The recent Windows 10 update did not necessarily offer many changes for consumers, and we saw more news about control panel changes than anything else.

Which key elements of Windows 10 will change? Initial leaks suggested that we would see a new Start Menu, File Explorer, Action Center, and some tweaks introduced in Windows 10X.

Since that sentence has been removed from this job description, there is reason to suspect that the role responsible for updating the Windows 10 Sun Valley interface has already been filled and moved on to equally important quality assurance issues.

But looking at the current version of that post, we can't help but read between the lines a bit of the job description. It goes like this: "This team orchestrates and delivers experiences that ensure Windows is a great user experience for our customers," and "We have the opportunity to build fun and sophisticated experiences for Windows."

But while that job description is something the company should always strive for, we hope that users are as sick of dealing with them as Microsoft is of hearing reports of buggy Windows 10 updates.
