Perhaps another One More Thing from Apple is coming in 2020: according to a new leak of an internal Apple memo, the company has informed service providers that changes to AppleCare will take place next Tuesday, December 8.
As MacRumors reports, this type of change has historically coincided with product launches. And this time, it will be at 8:30 AM ET. This is roughly the same time that Apple announced some of its products in a press release.
Recent Apple products have been announced via press release, including the 13-inch MacBook Pro in May 2020 and the second-generation AirPods in March 2019.
So what could Apple possibly announce on December 8 after three major events this year where the Apple Watch 6, iPhone 12, and MacBook Air M1 were announced? We're betting on AirTags, a new type of product tracker that leverages Ultra Wideband to help locate items; we're told AirTags will also work with augmented reality apps.
However, Apple's first over-ear headphones, the AirPods Studio, could also be announced; the AirPods Studio are expected to feature active noise cancellation and challenge Sony and Bose's top-of-the-line headphones. Other leaks point to interchangeable parts and a retro design.
We are also hearing rumors of a new Apple TV 4K, which may come with a new game controller to better utilize the wide range of titles available on Apple Arcade. We can also expect to see a new, faster Bionic chip.
If this rumor is true, we will bring you that news next Tuesday. At this stage, there will be no virtual event, and the product will probably just be listed in the Apple Newsroom and Apple Store. Stay tuned.
