The new iPhone SE 2020 is here. The new iPhone SE with Apple's amazing CPU, A13 Bionic, will be available starting Friday, April 24. How can I pre-order the new iPhone SE before then?
Reservations for the new iPhone SE are now available at Apple Stores. Apple Stores nationwide are closed, but iPhone SE reservations are available at online stores.
The new iPhone SE is priced at $399 for the 64GB model, $449 for the 128GB model, and $549 for the 256GB model. However, if you have an older iPhone that you are willing to trade in, Apple will offer a trade-in credit toward the purchase of a new iPhone SE 2020. For example, the original iPhone SE and iPhone 7 can get a credit of $30 and up to $120, respectively, bringing the cost of the new iPhone SE down to $369 and $279, respectively.
Without the credit, the new iPhone SE is one of the least expensive iPhones ever, and one would have to go back to the original iPhone SE to find a new Apple device with such a low price.
In terms of performance, however, the revamped iPhone SE should not disappoint: it is powered by the same A13 Bionic CPU found in the iPhone 11 series. Apple claims that the A13 is 2.4 times faster than the A9 processor in the original iPhone SE. It is also 40% faster than the A11 Bionic in the now discontinued iPhone 8. More importantly, the A13 has proven to be the fastest mobile processor we have tested.
In addition to the faster chip, the iPhone SE has a better camera than the iPhone 8. (The iPhone 11 with multiple lenses should outperform the SE when it comes to mobile photography.) The iPhone SE also has the same compact size as the iPhone 8, which should appeal to fans of the best small phone that fits comfortably in one hand.
