According to Microsoft CEO, Xbox Series X will not be delayed by the coronavirus

GamesRadar reports that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed to CNBC

that the COVID-19 outbreak will not delay Xbox Series X production.

This is consistent with other manufacturers, such as Apple and the iPhone 9, which are reportedly on track to launch on schedule. Nadella's comments are also consistent with earlier reports that the Xbox Series X may not be affected by the coronavirus, even though Surface and Windows products could be hit.

Of course, Xbox Series X production is only half the story. Nadella made it clear that Microsoft will likely have enough units to meet demand for the 2020 holiday season, but it remains to be seen what the global and US situation will be like when that time comes.

There are also many unknowns that could affect retail sales, as most major stores will be closed for the time being. However, it may not affect door-to-door sales for those who ordered their Xbox Series X online.

Nadella warned that Microsoft's cloud services are under a lot of stress as a result of the pandemic's surge of people telecommuting. With one-third of the world's population already quarantined, this situation may continue for some time, as things are deteriorating at a rapid pace in the United States.
