Hybrid work is a central theme at CES 2022. This is not surprising given that many of us have to work both at home and in the office.
Many vendors are now producing laptops suitable for hybrid work, one of which is the new HP Elite Dragonfly G3. This laptop is the ultimate hybrid work machine and will help increase productivity wherever you work.
The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 comes bundled with Windows 11 and is powered by a 12th generation Intel Core processor. (HP has not been more specific.)
The base model has a 13.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The taller screen provides more screen space for reading e-mail and documents. There is also a 3K2K OLED model with touch capability, 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, and up to 2TB of SSD storage.
All of this is housed in an ultra-slim clamshell chassis weighing less than 1k and available in slate blue and natural silver hybrid.
Those who have used previous Dragonfly laptops will notice that the G3 has larger keys and a larger touchpad. The 1:1 screen to touchpad ratio makes using the touchpad more natural and intuitive.
The fingerprint and power buttons are also easier to reach than on previous Dragonfly models. myHP applications allow you to customize programmable keys with frequently used apps and commands.
Thunderbolt ports on either side of the laptop accommodate both left- and right-handed users, allowing the laptop to be placed almost anywhere without worrying about the cable getting caught on something.
HP's Dynamic Voice Leveling audio feature automatically optimizes speech intelligibility to ensure that you hear as clearly as possible, and 360-degree voice tracking ensures that your voice is heard even when you are not speaking directly into the microphone.
AI-based noise reduction minimizes any noise happening around you. This means that your colleagues will no longer have to listen to your dog barking when you want their attention. You will also experience exceptional sound quality, as four discreet amplifiers work together to produce a realistic sound.
The HP Auto Frame feature tracks your face and the auto frame keeps you centered in the frame. People who frequently move around while holding a laptop during meetings will appreciate this convenient feature. The low-light compensation feature ensures a bright, clear image even when the light in the room is low as clouds pass overhead or the sun begins to set.
The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 learns your work patterns and optimizes power consumption. For example, when you leave the laptop, the AI-controlled feature recognizes that you are gone and adjusts the laptop's power consumption. It also recognizes that you are asleep and reduces power consumption. This battery saving feature is especially nice because it is a hassle to turn off the laptop when you are away from home.
The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 will be available in March. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
