OnePlus is preparing the next generation OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro. We already have a good idea of what the latter could look like, but this time we have some insight into the possible specs of the OnePlus 10 Pro.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 10 Pro will, not surprisingly, feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC (system-on-chip). What we find very intriguing, however, is the alleged 80W charging.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is rumored to jump from 65W to 80W, while wireless charging is said to be 50W to 60W. This upgrade would be significant given that the battery can go from empty to virtually fully charged in just 30 minutes. Notably, earlier leaks suggested that the battery would add 500 mAh, increasing it to 5,000 mAh.
Otherwise, the OnePlus 10 Pro seems largely indistinguishable from its predecessor. We seem to be looking at a 6.7-inch curved panel with a punch-hole camera in the upper left corner, like the OnePlus 9 Pro. The screen will reportedly have a 2K resolution and be LTPO AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate support, like the current model. It will also feature LTPO 2.0 technology for a smoother experience.
Digital Chat Station is good at all-around predictions, but this leaker is especially good with OnePlus: in January, this leaker accurately predicted key specs for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. [The rear camera specs are the same, with a 48MP main camera supported by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8MP 3x telephoto lens. In fact, this is a minor downgrade, as there is no mention of the fourth lens (a 2MP monochrome lens for artistic black-and-white photography) that was included on the OnePlus 9 Pro.
However, there is a significant upgrade to the front-facing camera, which is said to have doubled in size from 16 MP to 32 MP.
If we are to believe this string of leaks, the OnePlus 10 Pro appears to be a refined version of the previous model, as predicted by leaker Yogesh Brar in September.
We won't have to wait too long to find out if these rumors are indeed correct. According to Max Jambor of the German website All About Samsung, the OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to appear in January or February 2022.
And while it may only be China to begin with, we can still check the veracity of these specs and see if we have an early contender for the list of best phones for 2022.
