Update: Sony has sold out of PS5 consoles. Please see our PS5 restocking guide for information on the next restock. In addition, our Black Friday PS5 Deals offer great deals on Sony accessories and games.
Sony Direct PS5 restocking is now open. This invite-only restock is open to anyone who registered their email last month when Sony allowed anyone to register. The registration page is still live, so even if you missed today's restock, it's worth registering now that we're in the Black Friday bargain season, as there may be further drops.
Restocking for the general public may follow the first drop; the PS5 is available for $499 at this link and the PS5 Digital for $399 at this link. If there is a restock for the general public, it is likely to be around 5:00 PM EST.
Today's Sony Direct PS5 restocking confirmation initially surfaced after several users shared invitations on Twitter. Now that PS5 games and accessories have been reduced on Black Friday, many major retailers are expected to restock the PS5; bookmark the PS5 restocking hub to be notified as soon as updates are available.
Occasionally, Sony Direct will restock for invite-only customers. (Invitations will be sent via email). Sony recently opened registration for these events to the general public. This means that anyone can now sign up for an invite-only Sony Direct PS5 restocking event.
Or, activate your Sony Direct account and set your notifications to Yes Creating a Sony Direct account is easy. You can sign up at this link. Once your account is set up, add your address and billing information. Registering this information will help you add the PS5 unit to your cart.

From that page, select "notifications" from the left column to opt-in to receive news and special offers from Sony.
Remember that this method does not guarantee that you will receive your invitation in time for the next PS5 drop.
Typically, Sony tends to open the virtual queue to the public after an invite-only PS5 restock. However, that is not always guaranteed. (If there are surplus consoles available, restocking for the public will most likely take place after the invite-only event has ended. () Of course, you can bookmark this page to keep up to date with the latest PS5 restocking information from Sony Direct and major US retailers.
Once in the virtual queue, an estimated wait time is displayed. All wait times vary, and there is a good chance that you may wait "over an hour". Even in that case, do not despair. Your status may change rapidly and your wait time may be shorter than estimated. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes for a previous PS5 restocking event, the wait was reduced from "over an hour" to just 15 minutes.)
Additionally, you may have to solve a captcha. (A simple challenge/question to verify that you are not a bot.) Usually a radio box must be selected. As a result, the browser tab must be prominent, otherwise you may miss the captcha challenge and lose your place in the queue.
