Tonight's Braves vs Astros live stream catches a Houston team with new wind in their sails after a 9-5 comeback win in game 5. After this MLB live stream today, they will be looking to push this series at least one more game and force a Game 7.
The World Series returns to Houston with Game 6 starting tonight. The Astros will pitch Luis Garcia and the Braves will pitch Max Fried. Both will make their second start of the series.
Fried will be looking to bounce back from his first start. The lefty allowed six runs on seven hits in Game 2, allowing the Astros to score without using a long ball. Fried took the loss in game two, and the Astros went on to win 7-2.
Garcia started Game 3 in Atlanta and came up short in a 2-0 Braves win, surrendering one run on three hits and four walks in 3.2 innings. In four appearances this postseason, he has a 7.62 earned run average.
In the batter's box, Carlos Correa was reeling from a 3-for-5, two-run outing in Game 5 at Houston. The Braves will again look to Travis d'Arnaud, who leads the team and the series with a .350 batting average. The Atlanta catcher also hit two homers in the series.
The Astros took advantage of the Braves' inexperienced starting pitching on Sunday night to force Game 6. Atlanta started 25-year-old Tucker Davidson, who has never pitched in the postseason and whose last regular season appearance was back on June 15. Davidson pitched two innings, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks.
After that, cracks appeared in the normally solid Braves bullpen. The "night shift," as the Atlanta bullpen became known, gave up five runs on ten hits; A.J. Minter gave up three runs and Drew Smyly gave up two runs.
If the Braves won, it would be their first World Series win since 1995.
The Astros were 1.5 run favorites in Game 6. The over/under is 9 runs. Vegas reports Houston as a -130 favorite (bet $130, win $100).
