Star Trek: Picard Season 2 - New Trailer, release Date window, Cast and more

Q, the omniscient troublemaker, returns in [Star Trek: Picard Season 2]. The trailer reveals what Q is up to on Star Trek Day and how it will affect Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). They need to return to the right future.

"Star Trek: Picard" Season 2 was given the go-ahead last year by Paramount Plus before Season 1 premiered in January 2020. Fans will get 10 more episodes about retired Starfleet Admiral Picard and his ragtag group of aliens. In more good news, Stewart announced on Star Trek Day that Picard Season 3 has been confirmed.

Star Trek: Picard Season 1 explored the far-reaching mystery surrounding two characters, Darzi and Soji. The twins are the daughters of Picard's former android crew member, Data. The plot involves Romulans and Borg and leads Picard to a distant planet, where he is reunited with familiar faces, including William Riker, Deanna Troy, and Seven of Nine.

From the trailer, it appears that "Picard" Season 2 will tackle time travel and alternate timelines.

Here's everything we know about "Star Trek: Picard Season 2."

Paramount Plus has set a February 2022 release date for "Star Trek: Picard" Season 2.

On September 8, Star Trek Day, Paramount Plus announced the date in a new full-length trailer.

Season 2 received early orders from the CBS All Access streaming home, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed most film and television production. Filming resumed and "Star Trek: Picard" was able to complete Season 2.

The trailer for "Star Trek: Picard" Season 2, released on Star Trek Day (September 8), reveals much about the story of the next installment: for his own nefarious reasons, Q sends Picard and his crew to another He sends them to a timeline. In order to save their future, the past must be corrected, and that involves the Borg Queen.

In June, Paramount Plus released a teaser trailer in which Jean-Luc returns home to find that everyone but Q is gone.

As part of First Contact Day, Q made his first appearance in the first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard Season 2. Q, an omnipotent being, laughs and then says, "The trial is not over."

The cast of Star Trek: Picard is led by Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, former captain of the USS Enterprise and now retired admiral. He leaves his family's vineyard and embarks on a new adventure with the crew of La Sirena.

As noted above, John de Lancie returns as Q.

"Star Trek: Picard" Season 2 may feature additional cameo appearances by familiar cast members from the franchise. One Next Generation cast member who is certain to appear this year is Whoopi Goldberg. The first season of "Picard" largely solved the mystery surrounding Asha's twin. However, "Star Trek: Picard" Season 2 should delve deeper into some of the regions, worlds, and cultures introduced in the first season. Among others, the Fenris Rangers' involvement with the Seven, the Kowat Milat Romulan warrior nuns, the hyper-commercialism of the Free Cloud, and the underworld's seedy market for Borg parts.

Our guess is that Picard continues to work on the fringes of the Federation, not as a revered admiral. He and the ragtag group aboard La Sirena will probably venture further into the dark recesses of the galaxy.

These adventures will likely call for Q in some form, as de Lancie is set to appear in Season 2. The trailer's reference to a "trial" indicates that Q will once again put humanity to the test. And this time, it may involve data or another form of artificial life. Recall, in the first episode, Picard dreamed that he was playing cards with Data, who had five queens of hearts. And the last image in the trailer shows the queen of hearts melting down to just the letter "Q." Is it a coincidence? I don't think so in Star Trek.
