Before the weekend is over, it's time to watch Rick and Morty Season 5 Episode 2. Speaking of standing between things, fate and Rick continued to pull Morty away from happiness last week. A gateway in time and space and a visit from Rick's nemesis interrupted Morty's date with Jessica. Isn't this always the way with family?
So what will Morty do in the remaining nine episodes of season 5? He seems increasingly fed up with the way Rick interrupts him. Because it seems that someone (he says) is hunting down the world's most reckless grandfather. According to the early trailers, it appears that uninvited guests are trying to ruin Rick's life.
Could this have something to do with last week's war among the Hoosiers? So much time had passed that every time Morty stepped into that reality, an entire tribe would emerge wanting Morty dead.
Nevertheless, we are ready to expect clones. The title of Season 5 Episode 2, "Mortyplicity," refers to the 1996 Michael Keaton movie in which the lead actor cloned himself to perform all his duties. Remember Space Bess?
We wonder if Space Morty might have a message for our Morty about how good life is without Rick. Or perhaps Morty is cloning himself so that he can start over again with Jessica.
