Moto G Stylus 5G brings better stylus and Quad camera for better399

Motorola has announced the new Moto G Stylus 5G. Obviously, a major upgrade over the original Moto G Stylus, as the name suggests, this new budget phone supports 5G. However, the Moto Stylus 5G also features several other improvements, including a fully rounded stylus.

We all like to talk about big flagship phones like the iPhone 12 and Galaxy S21, but there is a huge market for budget and mid-range phones. Motorola is the king of this field with its Moto G series, all of which offer a solid Android experience with varying degrees of battery life.

The Moto G Stylus 5G's modest specs are surprisingly robust, led by the Snapdragon 480 5G processor. The retail model comes with 256GB of storage and supports up to 1TB of micro SD cards. It will also have 6GB of RAM.

The Moto G Stylus 5G features a quad camera setup, led by a 48MP main shooter. This is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor; the 16MP front camera is located in a hole drilled into the display.

Speaking of which, the Moto G Stylus 5G has a 6.8-inch FHD+ display. In other words, this is definitely not going to make the list of best small phones. Rather, it will challenge the size of the OnePlus 9 Pro and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Fortunately, as its name suggests, it comes with a stylus to enhance productivity and use the phone more effectively. The new stylus is an improvement over the one on the 4G model, with a perfectly rounded body that makes it easier to slip back into the slot in the phone's frame.

A large 5,000mAh battery powers the whole thing. We'll have to wait for a full review to know the final battery numbers, but there is no doubt that the Moto G Stylus 5G has great battery life, perhaps enough to earn a spot on our Best Smartphone Battery Life list. Motorola has a track record of making long-lasting, value-priced phones.

But the Moto G Stylus 5G is more than the sum of its parts: it runs Android 11 and is powered by Motorola's My UX, which offers layers of customization (including Motorola's popular gestures) that make the phone feel like it is truly its own. It makes you feel as if the phone is truly yours.

Motorola has put a big emphasis on a notes app for users who need a stylus. The company is proud of how well the app has been received thus far and plans to continue making it useful and fun.

Purchasing the Moto G Stylus 5G will provide an upgrade to Android 12 and two years of security updates. We can't say we're too thrilled with this update plan, but we'll save that discussion for a full review.

The Moto G Stylus 5G is available for just $399. (The Moto G Stylus will be available June 14 at Motorola.com as well as retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, B&H Photo, and Walmart; AT&T and Cricket will also offer the phone, but pricing has not yet been announced.
