Battlefield 6 is still unannounced, but recent leaks and rumors suggest that the next installment in EA's popular military shooter franchise will be a wild one. If a rideable robot dog isn't enough to convince you, the prospect of tornadoes ripping through the map might pique your interest.
This tidbit of information comes from Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, who has released a sketch of the Battlefield map on his Twitter account. It is not known whether the drawing is his own or whether he obtained it from elsewhere. However, based on his recent tweets, it is possible that the drawing was taken from a trailer.
The artwork in question depicts a coastline dotted with rocket launching sites, an Osprey flying overhead, and an ominous-looking storm coming in. Henderson's sketch is fairly basic, but Twitter user All Things Gaming created a mockup.
Henderson clarified that his sketch depicts a "literal storm/tornado" and not a battle royale map. Battlefield 5 was the first title in the series to introduce battle royale, and the mode could make a comeback in this year's game.
He tweeted a GIF of a rocket firing in the same thread, indicating that the map will be quite chaotic. There will be dynamic weather, tornadoes, rockets firing around players, etc.
The map itself, by the looks of it, seems to be set up pretty large. Henderson tweeted that there are six to eight Ospreys, which "should give you a sense of scale." Such a huge map lends credence to the rumor that Battlefield 6 will support up to 128 players, double the 64 players of Battlefield 5.
Henderson released a second sketch of the same map from a different perspective. This is "the only first-person view, hovering in the jet. The view from the cockpit is looking at one of the rockets on the map, which Henderson describes as looking like a "Falcon 9 with three huge boosters on the bottom."
All Things Gaming again created a mockup of this sketch. Henderson later corrected it in the thread, stating that it was most likely a viewpoint from an Apache helicopter.
We don't know when the "Battlefield 6" trailer will be released, but if Henderson has already seen it, it will likely be released soon. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled.
