The Galaxy Z Flip 3 (or 2) is here, and leaks of it are beginning to mount. According to a new leak, the Z Flip 3 will have the same total battery capacity as Samsung's first clamshell folding smartphone.

The total capacity will be 3,300 mAh, and according to this leak, the two battery packs will have very different capacities. We believe Samsung will put the larger one in the bottom half of the phone and leave the smaller cell for the top half, which will be folded.

We caught this leaked information via SamMobile. This information comes from three regulatory agencies: Safety Korea, DEKRA, and 3C. The larger main battery has an estimated capacity of 2,370 mAh, while the smaller one has 903 mAh.

Taken together, these are close enough to 3,300 mAh to match the hardware of the original Galaxy Z Flip. If this information is true, the battery would be divided into upper and lower halves.

We are not that surprised about this development, but early rumors about the device indicated that the new Z Flip would see a larger battery capacity. The battery life of the first generation was so-so, but perhaps Samsung has made some improvements to the hardware or software to extend the battery life of the Z Flip 3.

Other than that, we don't know much about the Galaxy Z Flip 3 (or 2). Whatever Samsung will call this phone, it will mimic the flip phones of old and give it a distinctly different look than the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Among other things, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to feature an upgraded processor, a 120Hz display, and 128GB and 256GB storage options. It may also feature a more durable, redesigned hinge and improved display material to make the screen more robust.

Samsung apparently has many tricks up its sleeve for 2021.
