Plug it in, turn it on, and . . turn it off again for 24 hours. The popular expert review site, Reviews.org, has issued a 24-hour detox challenge to tech enthusiasts around the world for a chance to win more than $2,000 if they can turn off their favorite tech devices for 24 hours. [especially as offices are closed and college students are forced to study in their bedrooms.
According to the website, the budding digital detoxer must be someone who is glued to technology every day and open to challenges. On the other hand, the website asks, "Always wanted to win a real-life competition like American Ninja Warrior, but too busy beating Mario Kart or Mortal Kombat instead? If this sounds all too familiar, this digital detox might be for you.
"This is a great opportunity for those who want to use their devices for a day but need to get paid," the company explains, urging anyone who thinks they can get away from technology altogether to apply.
If the application is successful, the 24-hour technology ban applies to more than just your best phone: the PS5, Xbox Series X, your favorite best TV, even your smart home device must all be stopped in the name of detoxification.
The challenger will be given a $200 Amazon gift card and a safe that will hold all electronics for 24 hours, while creating a "survival kit" devoid of any tech.
Selected contestants must review their survival kit, including what they chose to do to stay tech-free for 24 hours, and must also give a rigorous evaluation of their overall experience. All in the name of the "2021 Digital Detox Challenger."
