The iPad dominates the tablet market, but Apple has yet to kill its Android rival. According to a recent leak, Xiaomi is once again entering the ring and going head-to-head with Apple.

The leak comes from a user named "Bald Panda" on the Chinese social media site Weibo (via MyFixGuide) and lists some key specs. Overall, this appears to be a powerful tablet, but still may not be able to match the overwhelming power of the iPad Pro.

Of course, we have to be skeptical of any leaks we see, but these specs seem legitimate. We don't know much else about what is supposedly called the Mi Pad 5, not even the release date, but the specs are an important part of the story.

Bald Panda has revealed a few things. First, the LCD screen will be 10.95 inches, with a resolution of 2K, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz. This is the same as the iPad Pro.

The rear camera may be 20MP or 13MP. The latter is expected to be an ultra-wide angle lens, but this is only speculation. Bald Panda also claims that the fingerprint sensor will be side-mounted on the power button like the latest iPad Air.

As for the processor, the Mi Pad 5 is likely to use the Snapdragon 870. The tablet should also run Android with Xiaomi's MIUI.

Leaked Geekbench results for the Snapdragon 870 show a single-core score of 1016 and a multi-core score of 3332. This is lower than the A12Z chip in the current iPad Pro. At this time, the A12Z has a single-core score of 1122 and a multi-core score of 4670.

The Mi Pad 5's price remains a mystery, but is expected to be quite competitive with Apple and Samsung. The leak suggests that the tablet will be priced close to the iPad Pro, but says nothing about the current state of Android in tablets.
