We've already heard rumors about color schemes for both phones, but analyst Ross Young claims that more choices will be available. It was previously rumored that the Z Flip 5 would come in beige, gray, light green, and light pink, while the Fold 5 would be beige, black, and light blue.
Now, according to Young, the Z Flip 5 could come in blue, green platinum, and yellow, while the Z Fold 5 could add blue and platinum. This is quite a lot of color options for a new flagship phone.
It is not clear if these colors will be universally available or if certain shades will be exclusive to certain regions or retailers. The Samsung Galaxy S23 had multiple colors like this, but lime and graphite were only available from Samsung.com; for the S23 Ultra, sky blue and red were also exclusively available.
So it makes sense that Samsung would keep some of the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5's desirable colors for themselves. However, Young did not say anything about this, so we do not know if this is true, or if so, which colors Samsung will keep.
We can't find out for sure until both devices are available for reservation, which we probably won't happen until after the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. Unpacked is currently said to take place on July 26, with the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 rumored to launch on August 11. This is slightly earlier than usual and is rumored to be due to increased competition in the foldable phone arena.
In the meantime, you can read more about the upcoming foldables in our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 hub. We've heard quite a bit so far, including details on possible battery, camera, and display changes.
