The partnership may have kept both stores for now, but the increasing crime rate in the neighborhood is beginning to affect their customers. Calvin, Angie, and their quirky friends will devise a plan that may make a real difference.

Hall won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress for this performance, becoming the first African American to win the award.

Koichi (Maeda Koki) lives with his mother, while his younger brother Ryunosuke (Maeda Wantshiro) lives with his father in Fukuoka. hearing a mysterious rumor that a wish comes true when two bullet trains pass each other, Koichi and Ryunosuke gather their friends and set off on a journey to once again restore their family. A charming portrayal of childhood, "Wishful Thinking" is not to be missed.
