As Adam Sandler once pointed out in "The Hanukkah Song" about the lack of popularity of Hanukkah music, finding the right Hanukkah movie to watch during the holiday is a difficult task.
But slowly but surely, this is beginning to change, and even Lifetime and Hallmark are embracing the pleasures of Chanukah. Here are some of the best Hanukkah movies to check out to get you in the holiday spirit.

Consider Adam Sandler as Hanukkah's biggest celebrity ambassador. He co-wrote and starred in the bawdy animated comedy Eight Crazy Nights in 2002, partly in an attempt to bring Hanukkah movies to Jewish audiences. He plays a variety of characters in the film, one of which is the rough-and-tumble protagonist Davey. Davey befriends Whitey (also voiced by Sandler) when he is court-ordered to volunteer as a referee for a youth basketball league. Hidden deep within the vulgar sense of humor lies the essence of the film, which is probably why it still has a cult following many years after its initial release.
